Media executive Greg Maloka has broken his silence over anonymous allegations that resurfaced online following the announcement of his new business partnership.
In a statement released on Wednesday, July 7, 2026, Maloka said the allegations first emerged five years ago. He explained that, at the time, he chose not to contest them in the public arena and instead took a leave of absence to allow an independent process to run its course.
According to Maloka, what was expected to be a swift process became prolonged, ultimately leading to an irreparable breakdown in trust between himself and his employer at the time. He said he resigned after five months before the process reached a conclusive outcome.
Maloka also revealed that the anonymous allegations surfaced in the aftermath of a Section 189 retrenchment process during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic as part of an agreed organisational restructuring. While acknowledging that retrenchments were deeply traumatic, he rejected the allegations as false and said they were widely circulated afterwards.
“I have remained silent out of respect for the confidentiality of those processes. That silence should never be mistaken for an admission of wrongdoing,” Maloka said.
He added that anyone who believes they have a legitimate complaint is free to pursue the appropriate legal channels. He also expressed confidence that his business partners would address any concerns appropriately should they be raised.
Maloka said the past five years had taken a significant toll on his family, who endured repeated public attacks while he chose not to respond publicly.
“This is all I intend to say on the matter,” he said.
He concluded by saying his focus remains on serving his clients, honouring the trust placed in him by his business partners, and building the businesses entrusted to his care. He also thanked his clients, partners, colleagues and everyone who has continued to support and trust him.
At the time of publication, no further details about the allegations or any legal proceedings were provided in Maloka’s statement. He continues to maintain that the allegations against him are false.
