HEAZY MADIDA REVEALS THE NUMBER THAT HAS GIVEN THE SATURDAY SHOW A MAJOR BOOST
The numbers are in, and they have given Gagasi FM Urban Top 40 presenter Heazy Madida plenty to smile about.
Madida has revealed that the show has discovered a following of more than 175 000 members on the Gagasi FM app.
The discovery came as a surprise to Madida and his producer, Sibusiso Nqayi, who have been putting in extra work behind the scenes to sharpen the Saturday show.
Every Saturday, the pair sit down and review the latest episode.
They go through what worked, identify areas that need improvement and learn from mistakes made during the show.
Madida says listeners may also have noticed changes in the programme’s social media content as the team works to improve its digital presence.
But measuring the show’s overall reach has not been easy.
With RAMS, the Radio Audience Measurement Survey, not providing a dedicated picture for the show, and Urban Top 40 not having its own dedicated social media page, the team has had limited ways of tracking its audience reach.
Then came the 175 000 surprise.
Last week, Madida and his team checked the Gagasi FM app and discovered that more than 175 000 people were listed as members.
For the presenter, the figure was both unexpected and motivating.
He thanked KwaZulu-Natal listeners for trusting him and Nqayi and for becoming part of the Gagasi FM Urban Top 40 family.
Madida says the team will continue working hard to give listeners their best every Saturday.
