Liverpool fever has officially taken over Durban!
The excitement is reaching fever pitch as the Liverpool FC Official Store opens its doors at Gateway Theatre of Shopping in Umhlanga, giving thousands of Reds supporters in KwaZulu-Natal a new place to get closer to their beloved club.
The new store, located on the ground floor near Entrance 8, is Liverpool FC’s first official store in KwaZulu-Natal and the club’s third standalone store in South Africa.
The opening has already attracted major attention, with former Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva making a special appearance at the launch.
And there is plenty more for supporters to look forward to.
Fans can get their hands on official Liverpool jerseys, training wear, clothing, accessories, gifts and collectables, with an in-store personalisation service also available for supporters who want to put their names on their shirts.
The opening celebration is expected to bring the famous Liverpool atmosphere to Gateway, with entertainment, raffles, special offers and appearances designed to give local supporters a taste of Anfield.
The Premier League trophy is also expected to feature as part of the celebrations.
The store comes as Liverpool’s popularity continues to run deep among South African football supporters, particularly in KwaZulu-Natal, where generations of fans have followed the club’s fortunes from afar.
For Durban’s Reds, that distance has just become a whole lot shorter.
